What Lies Behind a Working Life:

Vacationing in France – For the Language

(mud) – Those who arrive at the office in the morning are not always just focused on their current tasks. Sometimes, personal matters are also on their minds. This also applies to WTH employees—especially since some have international backgrounds. Today, Nan Li shares her thoughts on work with us.

Nan Li

In her free time, she enjoys ballet dancing—she has even performed once at the Stadeum. One of her greatest passions, alongside her job, is language learning: “I speak German, English, and Chinese, and I also have knowledge of Dutch and French,” says Nan Li. Because of her love for languages, she enjoys spending her holidays in France to actively deepen her French skills.

“I’ve been working in financial accounting at WTH since March 2022,” Nan Li explains. “I check invoices for accuracy and authorization and prepare everything for submission to the tax advisor. My responsibilities also include PAB and monthly inventory, customs, and import VAT.” Since the end of 2023, she has also taken on responsibilities in the quality management (QM) area. She participates in QM audits, summarizes RKV protocols quarterly, and monitors complaint processing.

Nan Li studied International Enterprising in Belgium and later undertook extensive training in financial accounting in Stade. She also deepened her knowledge of systematic and structured working methods in the HR department of the Federal Employment Agency.

While working as a project assistant at the shipping company COSCO, she gained and strengthened experience in coordinating with partners, project management, protocol preparation, and statistical work.

Asked what stands out most about her job, Nan Li summarizes: “At WTH, I really appreciate my kind colleagues and our boss—but above all, the intercultural collaboration. The work is enjoyable—and I’m constantly learning something new.”
