Incoterms – Legal Classification
Short and clear: Incoterms® are not statutory law—neither superior to national law nor to EU law. Consequently, they do not override (“break”) domestic or EU legislation. Incoterms® apply only if they are expressly incorporated into the contract and must always be interpreted within the framework of the applicable legal system.

When “Perceived” and Rule-Based Contract Performance Don’t Align
Incoterms provide clarity in both international and domestic trade. They define the rights and obligations of buyers and sellers in a uniform, globally recognized way and are regularly reviewed and updated by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). What Incoterms do not regulate, however, are payment terms or internal processes such as invoicing and document flow. This is precisely where misunderstandings often arise in day-to-day business.

WTH Puts Its Team at the Center of Digital Transformation
Digitalization means more than new software, automated workflows, or paperless processes. For WTH GmbH, it is above all one thing: a living process, driven by the people who shape it every day. A digital system can only be as strong as the willingness and competence of those who use it—and continue to develop it with their ideas.

WTH Focuses on Growth in a Changing Market in 2026
WTH enters 2026 from a solid position: the macroeconomic environment offers moderate improvements (EU-wide upswing, German investment impulses, Polish momentum), while structural industry trends (recycling, sustainable coatings, adhesive innovations) create clear growth opportunities. With targeted measures (expansion in Poland, a sustainable product portfolio, active raw material management), WTH can leverage moderate market growth disproportionately and further strengthen its market position in key industries.

Obituary in Memory of Michael-Uwe Dreyling
The sudden death of Michael-Uwe Dreyling in November 2025 has deeply affected me. With him, I have lost not only a long-standing employee of WTH GmbH, but above all a personal friend – someone who accompanied me and the development of our company critically, loyally and with great dedication for more than two decades.

New Year’s Greetings to Our Partners
As we enter the new year, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the trusting and successful cooperation. In a challenging and dynamic market environment shaped by innovation, sustainability, and technological progress, our close partnership has been a key driver of success.

Navigating Challenging Times with Stability and Foresight
What a year – once again one of the most economically demanding of the past decade. The global economy weakened noticeably in the first half of 2025 before showing initial signs of recovery towards the end of the year. In Europe, companies continued to struggle with the aftermath of high energy prices, fluctuating demand, and geopolitical uncertainties. Despite this, WTH GmbH in Stade managed to hold its ground remarkably well – and looks back on a turbulent year with justified confidence.

In Memory of Michael-Uwe Dreyling
In November 2025, we received the sad news of the sudden passing of our colleague and friend Michael-Uwe Dreyling. He accompanied WTH GmbH for nearly three decades – first as a critical observer and partner from the outside, later as a valued member of our communications team.

Christmas Eve sounds like “apple”
(mud) – People celebrate Christmas and the turn of the year in many different ways, almost all around the world. They do so despite the fact that, firstly, not everyone is Christian, and secondly, the New Year does not begin on the same day everywhere. WTH Managing Director Gero Thieme says: “Some of our employees were not born in Germany or came here later. We wanted to know from them how Christmas and New Year’s Eve are celebrated in their home countries – and how they approach these holidays today. They shared their stories with us.”

Success with Small Teams
(mud) – Those who arrive at the office in the morning are not always just focused on their current tasks. Sometimes, personal matters are also on their minds. This also applies to WTH employees—especially since some have international backgrounds. Today, Dieter Holst shares his thoughts on work with us.
