What Lies Behind a Working Life:
Chemistry Also Inspires Her Sons
(mud) – Those who come to the office in the morning aren’t just thinking about their current tasks. Sometimes, very personal thoughts are on their minds. That’s also true for the employees at WTH – especially since some have international backgrounds. Today, Cutian Wolf-Jusuf shares her thoughts on work with us.
“We have a holiday home on the Baltic Sea,” says Cutian Wolf-Jusuf, “and I love being there with my husband.” The couple has firmly decided to one day buy a similar house in their home country of Indonesia when they retire – though that may still be a while off.
“I’ve been working for WTH for over seventeen years and feel deeply connected to the company,” emphasizes Cutian Wolf-Jusuf. “The foundation of my professional development was a degree in chemistry followed by business studies, which led to my diploma as a business chemist.” She spent her early years of study in Hanover. Her goal was to understand, recognize, and manage the interdisciplinary connection between both fields within a company.
“I set this goal for myself already in my first job as an executive assistant for a globally operating chemical company that had founded a foreign subsidiary in Indonesia. Later, I took on the responsibility as sales manager for drinking water treatment in Southeast Asia.”
To this day, she is still deeply impressed by her Indonesian boss at the time, who successfully established the foreign subsidiary and placed great emphasis on cross-departmental cooperation. “That allowed all requirements for performance, cost-efficiency, and sustainability to be reliably met.”
Cutian Wolf-Jusuf later returned to Germany for family reasons. Today, she is proud that both her sons have also chosen careers in the chemical industry. “When they talk about their lab experiences, it feels like they already know more than I do,” she says, smiling.
She enjoys her role in internal sales at WTH and especially appreciates the collegial spirit among the staff: everyone supports each other with advice and help. Her focus in the company is product ecology.
Cutian Wolf-Jusuf explains: “The scope of product ecology includes documentation and interface coordination for product safety in line with EU regulations and chemical laws. I gladly embrace the associated diligence and communication demands every day.”
