A Look Behind the Scenes at AOS

(jb) – Company tours promote good collaboration: Not far from WTH GmbH’s headquarters in Stade, we have one of our supply plants with which we maintain particularly long-standing relationships – Aluminium Oxide Stade GmbH (AOS) in Stade-Bützfleth. AOS is part of DADCO Alumina & Chemicals.

Taking advantage of the proximity and strong partnership, we recently organized a plant tour to gain insight into the processing of the raw material bauxite. The AOS site spans 55 hectares along the Elbe River, including its own port where bauxite is delivered, unloaded, and stored via maritime freight.

During our visit, we were guided through the laboratories, which are staffed 24/7 for continuous quality monitoring. In various halls, we were able to observe the processing stages up to the final products: aluminum oxide and hydroxide. By the way, aluminum hydroxide (short: ATH) is an important component in the WTH product range.
