„The source of skill is will“
ud – WTH GmbH in Stade is a rock solid and successful family business. This long-distance trading company was founded on February 24, 1992 by Walter Thieme. My name is Gero Thieme. I have now taken my seat in the second generation as the successor to the WTH executive chair. My father passed the baton on to me in September 2021. My credo as WTH Managing Director is: “Ability comes from wanting”.
Before the takeover, I worked for the company for many years. Most recently as an authorized officer. My main focus was on digitalization. After all business processes had been optimized in this way, it was a matter of improving other operative fields as well.
WTH is now able to outsource jobs (home office), save on business trips through video conferences or hold spontaneous meetings – even with employees in Poland – via screen. We are currently optimizing our personnel management in a future-oriented manner.
Test runs, for example, are intended to find out whether we can digitally refine our job advertisements and personnel searches. Of course, constant and constant education, training and further education at all levels is maintained as a success factor. The same applies here: “Being able to do something comes from wanting to”. – Those who want to increase their knowledge for themselves and the company’s success will find open ears and support with us.
For me, success is an outstanding value. He not only advances the company. At the same time, it guarantees the professional existence of all employees. And it ensures our independence. That’s why I will lead WTH with a constant eye on the bigger picture in the sense of an honorable businessman.
The focus is on working together with motivated employees, dealing with all business partners in a spirit of partnership and trust and the will to continue to grow as a family business on our own.
It is important to me that I can always make the necessary decisions independently, without having to rely on the goodwill of others. And of course I take full responsibility for it.
Overall, I let myself be guided by four terms: sincerity, honesty, trust and reliability. They are all guidelines for me when dealing with business partners, but at the same time also for getting along well with my own employees.
Customers who order something from WTH are not only “delivered”, but also given the best possible advice, service and ongoing support. However, this is only possible with our dedicated and highly qualified employees! I also act for them according to the criteria mentioned, which means: anyone who is committed to WTH can be sure of a secure job and optimal conditions – even when the markets are stormy.
